Over the winter the team at Lindores have been refitting their original farmhouse and are thrilled to launch The Barley House – a unique and stunning on farm activities and event space for hire.
Built with local stone in the 1800’s the farmhouse has had multiple uses in its lifetime and most recently contained the grain dryer for drying the farms barley crops.
Newly transformed, The Barley House has become the centrepiece of the family’s working farm, providing a cosy space with high ceilings, making it feel airy and light – a lovely space to be in.
The walls ooze character and charm, telling their story and years of history. There are floating fireplaces from the original 1st floor bedrooms, exposed copper pipes and conduit, which give a sense of functionality and fun. The orange windows pop and make you smile.
The Barley House space is open plan, furniture can be reconfigured for different styles of events. There is a large log burning stove with complimentary firewood and three solid oak tables with bench seating for 2 – 24 guests.
The solid oak worktop and cabinetry at the end of The Barley House is equipped with coat hangers, fridge, crockery, plates, mugs. A separate entrance door provides access to a disabled toilet and on the same level is a cloakroom toilet and well-equipped community kitchen.
