Jannettas Gelateria celebrates an award-winning start to 2017 after securing the prestigious Taste Our Best accreditation, a quality assurance scheme from VisitScotland.
The accreditation assures diners at the St Andrews Gelateria that they are enjoying high quality ingredients of Scottish provenance and the freshest seasonal produce.
At least 40% of the Scottish produce is highlighted on the menu and includes dishes such as made-to-order open sandwiches using local artisan bread from father and son bakers G H Barnett & Son, meat sourced from butchers in Crail, J B Penman and eggs from Kilduncan Eggs. However, the star of the show is Jannettas 54 varieties of ice cream, all made using dairy from D & D Dairies.
Owen and Nicola Hazel, owners of Jannettas Gelateria, said:
“When we undertook our refurbishment not only was it a chance to change the look and feel of the business but also to create a new and exciting menu, which closely considered the seasonality and provenance of the food we sourced, used and produced. We believe not only that it will enhance our customer’s experience, but it will also give us a fantastic platform to source and select from great Scottish food and drink producers within Fife and beyond.

We were delighted therefore when VisitScotland recognised this and awarded us with the Taste Our Best accreditation. It has taken a great deal of hard work and time but we are chuffed to bits to have received this recognition.”
Taste Our Best helps to raise the profile of Scottish food as an important part of tourism, giving credit to those who are achieving high standards and encouraging others to aspire to them.
