Food from Fife, joined forces once again with Appetite for Angus, Great Perthshire Food & Drink and Eat & Drink Dundee, to host yet another successful local food & drink showcase.

Producers from Fife, Perth, Angus, and Dundee came together on Tuesday, 14th May at the iconic Discovery Point in Dundee, to showcase the region’s finest offerings to an audience of buyers, retailers, chefs, and food enthusiasts at Tasting Tayside & Fife 2024. The event featured an impressive lineup of producers from across the four regions, highlighting the very best of our local food & drink scene.

The day began with a vibrant networking session from 10am to 1pm, where attendees enjoyed informal conversations, and built meaningful connections. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as chefs, retailers, distributors, and enthusiastic food lovers engaged with local producers, discovering the exceptional quality and diversity of products available right here in our region and across Tayside.

Participants had the unique opportunity to taste a variety of local delicacies, ranging from award-winning farmhouse cheese, chocolate, coffee & gin, to the latest upcoming trends including hemp oils, seaweed butter and honeyberries! The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the chance to explore new products and forge valuable relationships.

Megan Murrie of Nakey Bakey shared her enthusiasm, saying, “Thank you so much for the opportunity to exhibit at Tasting Tayside & Fife yesterday, it was so informative and helpful. I loved it and learnt so much.”

Lisa Kennedy of East Neuk Orchards echoed this sentiment, stating, “Thank you so much for persuading us to come to the Tasting Tayside and Fife event. It was fascinating. I met a few old colleagues, made some new acquaintances, and learnt a lot. We have a long way to go!”

One of the highlights of the event was the interactive workshop that followed the showcase. Producers gathered to hear from an expert panel  on ‘How to Grow Your Business & Explore New Routes to Market’. The discussion provided actionable insights and strategies for business growth, with panelists including Colin Smith from the Scottish Wholesale Association & Graeme Ferguson from Invest Fife, sharing their experiences and offering practical advice on expanding market reach and leveraging available support.

We are particularly proud of the enthusiastic participation and the quality of interactions that took place throughout the event. Many attendees noted that the event provided invaluable opportunities for collaboration and inspiration, reaffirming the strength and potential of our local food and drink industry.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Scotland Food & Drink for supporting the event and all who participated and contributed to making it such a remarkable success. Your enthusiasm and support highlight the vibrant community we have in the Tayside and Fife regions.

Stay tuned for future events as we continue to celebrate and promote the outstanding food and drink our region has to offer. Together, we are fostering a thriving local food culture and driving growth in our industry.
