The St Andrews Brewing Company has just produced two delicious new ales, one of them inspired by owner Bob Phaff’s baby daughter Isla.

The latest beers are the 54.46 Series…Columbus – 5% and the Rye.P.A – 5.8%, which are on sale now.

Bob said that the Columbus takes inspiration from one of his own favourite songs to brew to, and Isla’s favourite song to dance to – Toots And The Maytals “54-46 Was My Number”

He said that the 54.46 Series is a range of limited edition guest beers brewed with 54% Pale Malt and 46% Wheat, single-hopped to allow the full flavours of the hop to shine through.

Columbus, he says, is a Northwest American, high alpha hop with flavours of citrus and spice.

Bob has described the Rye.P.A Rye.P.A – 5.8% as a “mash-up of two of my brews.”

It takes the same sweet, malty structure of previous guest ale Red Rye, hopping it up with the structure of his regular IPA; giving us a big malty ale with a bitterhop character of orange and tropical fruits.

Bob’s ever growing range of beers will be among those featured at the upcoming Cambolicious Wee Craft Beer Fest, which takes place on May 18
