Scotland Food & Drink is holding a special event in Fife to offer food producers and suppliers the opportunity to present their products to top chefs and decision makers.
Representatives from the Connoisseurs Scotland group of luxury hotels including Gleneagles, Turnberry Resort, Cameron House and Greywalls will be at the Old Course Golf Hotel, Resort and Spa for the event in mid-March.
The multi-award winning St Andrews Hotel and resort complex, lying alongside the famous Old Course at St Andrews Links, is also one of the group’s leading members.
The day will include an overview of Connoisseurs Scotland group, case studies from hotels on sourcing policies and how to become a supplier, and a networking lunch.
Also featured during the day will be;
Experiencing Scotland – key findings from the project showing that by offering and promoting Scottish produce, operators can raise their profile, grow their business and deliver a better customer experience.
Producer showcase – companies will be given a table displaying their products, with samples for tasting. Chefs/buyers will visit the producer for a short, speed-dating style meeting.
The chefs are interested in high quality, artisan Scottish food and drink products of all types that would fit well with their prestigious venues.
Also involved in the day is Springboard, the charity tasked with helping young, unemployed and disadvantaged people into careers in hospitality, leisure and tourism.
Finalists from the organisation’s FutureChef competition, that helps young people aged 12 – 16 to develop their culinary talents, will prepare the networking lunch http://springboarduk.net/
