Following the success of its “Fife Breakfast” workshops for B&B and guesthouse owners, the Fife Food Network has taken the initiative to a higher level.

Requests from a number of participants in the first series of workshops have resulted in the creation of a “Level 2” mini-course, and the first session will take place this week.

The network’s “Food from Fife” team has been working with chef lecturers at the SRUC Elmwood Campus.

The first workshop, to be held in the training kitchen and restaurant at Elmwood, is already sold out.

Food from Fife’s Viv Collie said that the workshop will help B&B and guesthouse owners further develop their culinary skills, and create a perfect breakfast experience for their guests.

She said that the intensive half day, hands on, fun workshop will include:

  • How to make, and present, two classic breakfast dishes with a contemporary twist
  • Improving knife skills
  • New table setting ideas
  • Recipes and demonstration for making preserves
  • A question and answer session on kitchen techniques/time saving tips
  • Information on local food producers and events
  • A Fife Brunch

The training session will take place on Wednesday 29th May. Details about further sessions will be announced soon.
