Crail’s second food festival will swing into action later this week,  and it promises a packed programme of activity.

The event is dedicated to showcasing Fife produce and promoting local companies, and more than 40 businesses will be involved from June 15-17.

Graham Anderson, of The Honeypot Guest House & Tearoom,  is managing the festival.

He said that the festival will be launched on Friday night in the Kirk Hall with a newly created  Crail Ale, Crail Curry, and  Crail Comedy.

Saturday will see the Crail Indoor Market & Cookery Theatre in the community hall during the day, with supper in the Kirk Hall.

“We will be bringing together some of Fife’s finest producers and talented chefs, all under one roof at our market and cookery theatre.

“The day kicks off with the judging and results of the East Neuk school pupils Baking & Craft competition and then continues with our food court complimented by a specially prepared and sourced Flavour of Fife tasting table.

“Produce will include jam, cheese, chutney, beef, salmon, chocolate, drizzles, pies, balsamic vinegars, oatcakes, fruit, vegetables, speciality oils, sweet fudge, not so sweet chillies, and artisan breads.

“We have a great team of chefs lined up lined up to present our cookery demonstrations, and these will take place throughout the afternoon.”


For the evening event food festival exhibitors will be staying behind to create a four course Fife supper and dining experience in the Kirk Hall. BBC Scotland’s Bruce McGregor will be providing entertainment.

Graham said that Sunday’s activity will be centred around the harbour between noon and 4pm.

The iconic backdrop will be coming to life with music, beach games, smoked fish, a seafood bar, crab, lobster, barbecued meats, drizzles and delights, ice cream and strawberries and lots more.

“This is when Crail Food Festival, Crail Fair, Crail Festival and East Neuk Festival hold hands to promote the summer events taking place from June 15th to July 28th  in and around the Royal Burgh of Crail,” he said.
