The wonder of sherry and its fascinating history will be matched with a special tapas menu in Cupar next week.

This one off event has been created – with assistance from Food from Fife – by Luvians of Cupar and the hospitality team at SRUC Elmwood Campus.

The evening will comprise a tutored tasting session of six sherries from renowned expert Vince Fusaro – with a six course menu using local and seasonal produce devised and prepared by SRUC Elmwood students.

The fortified wine is produced in Jerez DO (Protected Designation of Origin) within three towns in Andalusia in the far south of Spain. The climate there is warm and sunny, with more than 300 days of sunshine in a year.

Vince will guide guests through the story of sherry and its different types, with the award winning hospitality team of Elmwood students and chef/lecturers using the evening as part of their studies and development.

All profits from this ‘Year of Food and Drink’ celebration event will go towards the Cupar Christmas Lights fundraising campaign.

The event will take place from 6pm-9pm, Thursday 29th October, 2015 in the SRUC Elmwood Campus ‘Themes Training Restaurant’ in Carslogie Road.

Tickets are priced at £20 per person and can be bought by contacting the college on 01334 658800 or email
