The Food Awards Scotland announce Playfair’s Restaurant & Steakhouse are finalists

for Restaurant of the Year and Chef of the Year.

The Food Awards Scotland 2019 are back for sixth year to celebrate the best in the food industry; from the excellent restaurants, chefs and servers, to the specialists and suppliers.

Whether it is the places that you have had your lunch and dinner hundreds of times or new establishments that have just entered the industry, the Food Awards Scotland 2019 are an exclusive celebration of the masters that enhance the flavours in Scotland.

The black-tie ceremony will take place on Monday August 26th at The Marriott Hotel in Glasgow.

Playfair’s Restaurant & Steakhouse is a family-run, AA Rosette-rated restaurant in St Andrews have been announced at finalist in two categories – Restaurant of the Year and Chef of the Year. The restaurant has been running in St Andrews since it’s re-launch in 2012 and is well known within the town for fresh, local food served in a cosy and friendly environment.

Head Chef, Duncan McLachlan says: “It was an absolute honour to be nominated and then go on to win Chef of the Year last year so it’s very exciting to be a finalist once again. All of us in the restaurant are very grateful to have been nominated by the public to become a finalist and are delighted that they enjoy their experience with us at Playfair’s.  I will be attending the ceremony with my sister, Rachel and are looking forward to meeting the other talent in the industry.”

The event will welcome top professionals of the country’s food sector that provide delicious dishes, the freshest of products and rich menus.

 It will also showcase food suppliers, servers and manufacturers that take our taste buds around the world while in the comfort of Scotland.

The awards promise to be a memorable event in the food industry’s calendar, with a wide range of accolades ready to be presented to the most deserving professionals and establishments, including Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, Cooking School of the Year, Best of Glasgow and many more.
